General Muhammadu Buhari, the
president-elect, has declared that ruling Nigeria will be a difficult
task...
due to the level of decay the nation has endured under the
leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Buhari,
who made the declaration in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, during a
town hall meeting, compared the deficient rule of the PDP in Nigeria to a colossal rape of the nation.
According to Blueprint, Buhari noted that for Nigeria to get out of the sorry state it has found itself, “there should be commitment and perseverance in the leadership of the country.”
Acknowledging
that corruption is the main issue bedeviling the country, he promised
to fight the wide spread corruption in Nigeria so as to salvage the
country from the throes of economic bankruptcy.
He said: “We
need to fight corruption squarely for Nigeria to move forward. We will
run a transparent government. In doing so, I will not favour my family.”
