Adeboye, Obasanjo Oyedepo,Jonathan Meet In Abeokuta

President Goodluck Jonathan and former President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday held a closed door meeting at the latter’s Hilltop   residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Unconfirmed report had it that the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye and the Founder, Living Faith Ministry (Winners Chapel), Bishop David Oyedepo, were also part of the meeting which started at about...
7p.m. and ended at about 9.15p.m

sources said, was part of the conditions Obasanjo gave to hold any talk with President Jonathan, Punch reports.

Obasanjo shunned Jonathan as he stayed away from the Peoples’ Democratic Party presidential campaign at the MKO International Stadium in Abeokuta.

Obasanjo had left Hilltop at 2.59p.m and did not return till Jonathan and his entourage retreated to the Presidential Lodge in the city around 5.30pm, after their campaign.

Despite speculations that Obasanjo and Jonathan are at loggerheads, the former president made a surprise appearance at the wedding of Jonathan’s daughter on Saturday, thus raising hopes that their sour relationship was over.

Jonathan and the PDP were in the Ogun State capital to campaign support for the President’s re-election bid. While addressing party supporters at the stadium, Jonathan said his administration would create two million jobs if re-elected.


Obasanjo, recently came down hard on Jonathan accusing his administration of squandering $55 billion crude oil savings and reserves. Jonathan had in turn promised to expose what former leaders and heads of state failed to do while in office.
